You will have a great 1/8th to 1/4 time split, but a lousy 1/8th mile ET.
I got ya McRat, so the new TQ convertor will take care of my 1/8th mile woes while the 4:10's and the LS6 cam and intake will take care of my top end charge!

Just think all this and with out any tuning needed, and still emission legal! :p

...
A stock A4 with stock converter, and stock everything else is not going to gain half a second in the 1/4 just from the cam alone.
If you run the car "as-is" it won't. Move the shift points to 6800+ and it will. I'll betcha. You have no idea how area is under that curve 4500-6900. GOBS.

Maybe yall are right, who knows. The car shifts too soon so its hard to get #'s up there right now. I did get a run where it went to 6100 and the LS6 cam graph peaked out at 5900 and started slowly falling from that point on.

Either way, tuning, a stall, gears, and headers are all on my list. Now I just gotta get them on my girlfriends list

PSS - It looks like you were getting 2-3 deg of KR at 5500.

Personally, I'd get the most outta the cam without any other changes. Her mileage will be excellent, it will be a "no-fuss" daily driver, and when she hits 4500, **** happens. Maybe high 12's with a good 60 and the right setup.

There was no knock retard. The advance peaked at 27 degrees right there at 5500 and then goes back to 26.5 for the rest of the RPM range.

If I post from work (from any computer), and the post is more than fits into the "scroll box", it gives me a "Page not Found" error. At home it doesn't happen, even on the same computer.

With my old LS6 cam setup with Longtubes @ ASP @ Ported TB I made 376 rwhp @ 361 rwtq. On my stock manifolds there was no difference in power until around 4000 rpms after the addition of longtubes this cam really woke up and you could feel it start to make power around 3000 and it pulled hard all the way to 6500 rpms where I shifted. My dyno sheet had it peaking at 6250 rpms and stayed flat to 6500 rpms. After 6500 it dropped pretty quickly so I really don't see a point reving past 6600 rpms on a stock headed LS1 with an LS6 cam swap.

Especially with the A4 cars, you need to spin past HP peak to get best ET unless you have high stall. If you can, rev one gear until the HP matches the next gear or mechanical limit. These cars don't make good power stock at 3200.

let the curve continue up to 29. Funny: on a stock Z06 it has 22deg adv FLAT all through the powerband. Bizarre, but it works. I advanced it to 26 deg, and it lost power.

Ryan was this with an LS1 or LS6 intake?

Orange Krush... Factory LS6 intake as I have an 2002 year. I was at 362 rwhp @ 351 rwtq untuned after install of the LT's. After Mikey's tuning I got the 376 @ 361!

Doooh!

Thanx Ryan!

I was so busy speed reading I didn't bother to look at the sig.

Those gains are great and you (she) doesn't even have an LS6 intake. Installing the instake and raising the shift points would probably free up at least another 10-20 rwhp.

One question...compared to one of the new 'sleeper' grinds I assume the power up top would be about the same but below 4K there would be 15-20 bump in the TQ curve?

Compare the LS1 graph AT 6200 (redline), and the LS6 at 6200. I'll buy you a sixpack if it ain't 50HP.
McRat is 100% right. The LS6 cam shines above 6000 rpms.
When my car was stock w/lid it dyno'd at 290rwhp (A4) and at 6400 rpms it was at 272 rwhp. The same car w/MAC's and Off-road y-pipe, LS6 intake, peaked at 348 rwhp but at 6400 rpms is at 343 rwhp and stayed there until 6600 rpms. The car just pulls on the top end big time, especially with my Yank Y3200.

OK, I have this cam, check my sig for all the mods. Where should I be shifting? Right now Jayson from MTI has me shifting at about 6150, and rev limiter to 6200. It sounds to me like I'm leaving a lot of power on the table. Where do you guys suggest I set my shiftpoints? I have not had the car dynoed since I installed the cam, headers, and tr6's. We just used a basic safe tune to get me close since I would be shooting N20. I really need to save up some more money so that I can have the car retuned on the dyno with A/F readings, but MTI says that will cost another $200. You know it's funny I thought I paid for a "lifetime" tune when I gave them my first $550.
