Timing Question I am getting ready to put my LS6 together for my jeep Wrangler and I think I have everything all figured out however setting the timing has me a little concerned. Can you try to answer a few questions for me?
Can I just use a base timing setting? Or because I have a cam in it do I need to make adjustments?
Point me in the right direction if you can. I bought a book that goes through a lengthy procedure for checking and setting timing after a complete rebuild however I am not doing a complete reuild.
I bought the motor complete but the original owner had some parts removed that he used for another he build.

All you have to do is line the timing marks up. If you are using a stock timing set, there will be a dot on each timing gear. You will want to get those lined up perfectly. And I believe most aftermarket sets use numbers. So "0" would be like the "dots" on a stock set.
