telling a lq4 from a lq9

Default telling a lq4 from a lq9

im going to look at a 6.0 here sometime this week they say its a lq9 but is there any true way to tell from the outside of the engine without pulling off the heads to see if it has flat tops or dished pistons.

Do you know with certainty what vehicle it has been removed from?

they tell me its from a 05 escalade but i want to be sure i dont want to buy it and find out its a motor from a HD with dished pistons
