Default pushrod length question (yes, I did measure)

Changes over the winter break included having the heads ported and milled (0.012), as well as swapping out the original ls1-style lifters to the newest design ls7-style lifters.

All 8 cylinders (intake & exhaust) we're pretty close, so I added and averaged them all out to:

Intake: 7.356
Exh: 7.353

That is using a 0.075 pre-load.

They are close enouge I'll use the same length pushrod on all 16 valves. I really dont know what preload to use for the ls7-lifter.

Would it be better to go with a 7.350 or 7.375 length pushrod?

You can probably go with either. The 7.375" may be harder to find. I needed 7.475" for mine and no one had the Comps. However, Trend makes them for Comp and they had them in stock (and cheaper).

I just bought Manton PR's from mine. I needed 7.413 and 7.439 to give me the .050 preload I wanted. Called Terry Manton last Wednesday at 5:30EST. They were on my porch when I got home Friday. 11/32's .120 wall.

Terry will make them up for any exact length you want.

+1 for Trend
I would get the 7.350 length.

well, if 7.35x is with .075 already added, then stick with the 7.350's.
Going with the 7.375's would be almost .100 preload. Probably wouldn't hurt, but its a little on the high side, especially when your measurement is closer to 7.350 than 7.375
