Default new setup need help deciding

well my car blew up on saturday which was very unexpected and shouldnt have happened. I figure ill take it as a blessing in disguise and go ahead and put an eagle forged 408 rotating assembly in it if the block is still good (lq9). On the old setup with VERY mildly ported (3-angle valve job and bowl area cleane up a little on the exhaust side) 317's, an ms3 cam, ls6 intake with an 80mm tb, and supporting valtrain and boltons (stock lq9 bottom end) the car made 415/412. i was wondering if it would be possible with a different cam and more port work on the heads i could get into the upper 400's or lower 500's whp? it might be a little much for 317's to handle with the 72cc chamber but i was thinking of doing a l92/l76 head intake on there. let me know your suggestions

Those numbers seem REALLY low. We did a 408 in a customer's M6 car a few years back, it had totally stock 241 castings and made 458RWHP with an LS6 intake and 1 3/4" Hooker headers. How much compression does your car have?

Thanks

Oh, then yes, you will. I would think you will see 460-480 with the proper cam.
