Default Another Misfire Thread.. Need some help

So I finally did my 6 speed conversion in the t/a. The car has been sitting for 6 months or so. Everything went awesome, drove the car after the swap, drove mint. The other day I pull it in the garage to bleed the clutch and put the stock TB back on. Well after this is all done I go to drive the car home.. Starts studdering on me. Plug in the scanner I get the 0300 random misfire code. Also says cyl. 1 and 5 are misfiring, as well as o2 B1 S1 inactivity. So I begin to check everything possible. Plugs and wires were just recently changed and seem fine. I switched coils, that's not the problem. I have new bosch 02's for my lt's, swapped them to see if it effects the other side, doesn't do a thing. So at this point im running out of things. It's only misfiring on 1 bank (drivers side). It is constant 1 and 5 as well as occasional 3 and 7. The car runs like complete crap now, even after it ran mint for the first day. The only known problem is that there is a hole in the brake booster which has made me lose power brakes but im assuming thats irrelevant. Mods are in sig. Anyone have any other ideas? Do you think anything in the 6 speed swap casued this? I used a dif. harness and PCM. I'm going to try a few more things tomorrow would love to hear imput before then. -Jared

I tried searching but not sure if the threads met my needs. Im curious if a vacuum leak would make 1 bank misfire?? anyone? Im assuming it has nothing to do with coils, plugs, wires, etc. they wouldn't go bad at once

I had the same issue - one bank misfiring bad.

Turned out to be a plugged passenger side catalytic converter. Easy test - remove your y-pipe, start the engine. Check if there is flow out of the bad side. Mine had hardly any! Gutted the cat - ran great then.

Good luck.

Ya that's weird, not sure why the O2 is acting up i got the bosch vette O2's. I cleared that code and still hasn't came back. Maybe it's the harness/plug. Ill look into that and the vacuum leak, thanks

i wanna bring this thread back up i've tried everything and still got nothing. I also have no power brakes, can this be related? It's only bank 1 cyl. 1 and 5 , occasional 3. I checked injector, plugs, wires, coils, o2's, and replaced the brake booster. im so lost

could swapping pcm's have anything tp do with it? I checked all the plugs, pins on the pcm they seem fine. Does it need time to re calibrate or something? I'm just trying everything now im getting frustrated

have you thought about checking the wiring harness for the coils on that bank 1 and 3 could be damaged and sometimes grounding out on the others just a thought
