Default lifters and rocker arms

i'll be installing my tr230 cam FINALLY and i'm puttin on a set of freshly cleaned up 241's and of course the cam package on it lol, now rocker arms: i should just buy a new set of stock rocker arms instead of using my rockers correct? only reason i say stock is because when i bought the cam last year i was advised to just use my stock rocker arms and the 1.8 ratios wouldn't be good to use. also mileage right now is 142K i'm considering the LS7 lifters for the H/C instead of leaving my stock ones . . . . what do you guys think?

Yeah, new lifters are a good idea while you have the heads off. Also, dump the 1.8 rockers, no good with this cam. Look for some low mileage used rockers in the For Sale forum for cheap and send them to Harland Sharp and have them upgraded. I just sent mine out a few days ago.

is there a problem with your stock rockers you have now? I guess im confused on why you would buy another set of stockers. If anything just send the ones you have off to harland sharp or get some aftermarket ones.

i purchased the cam package from tr so the pushrods came with it
TR's warning:Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"Reverse Split" - 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars . Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.

Ok... your stock rockers are 1.7's so i still dont know why you want to get different stock ones. Forget that idea. If you dont trust your stockers you have now send them off or just get aftermarket ones. Theres no point in buying something you already have just to have it rebuilt. Just tryin to help. You can always just do what you want.

I misunderstood your original post. I thought you were already running the 1.8 rockers and were looking to replace them with stock ones for the new cam.

no it's not reccommended to run 1.8's with the tr230 so upgrading to those is not an option, Thunder reccommends stock rockers for this cam and i need to choose on keeping the old ones or brand new ones . . . i'm just tryin to figure out the stress this cam is going to put on the valve train
