Default Dropping lifters

I'm in the process of putting an engine back together its got a 4 inch bore a 3.9 inch stroke with all lunati internals, sleeved Ls1 block, but ive run into a bit of a snag. On two separate occasions Ive had to redo this engine due to a collapsed lifter, one time was a comp lifter and the next was an ls7 lifter. At first I thought it was just the comp lifter failed but now im more worried that its something in the motor. Done several other motors that have never had this problem so i dont know what could be causing these lifters to collapse but I'm a little paranoid about putting it together again just to have another lifter fail. I dont know if its even possible but is it possible the block itself has something to do with this? or is it just something wrong with the valvetrain setup? any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Was it the same lifter (intake number 6 as an example) both times? Are you setting lifter preload correctly?
