Default replacing rod bearing frum enderneith car.

So I think a buddy of mine has a spun bearing on his 01 zo6. I was going to drop the pan and start looking inside the motor to see what is going on in there. My quesion is has anyone replaced the rod bearing from underneith on a vette? Is it doable?

Edit: Car has good oil pressure

If the bearing is spun the crank and rods need to be replaced, you can throw a new bearing in there on that journal for a quick fix but if the crank is scored it will NOT last. If it is spun the crank is scored and the rod is fked up.

True words, sounds like a good time for a rebuild!

damn I need to check my spelling.....

Anyways. Ya I kinda figured that would be the case, but I was told otherwise by some friends, just wanted to check and make sure.

Looks like I'll tear it apart and see how bad the damage is. Just sucks cause the guy cant really afford a rebuild right now.

If he decides to have me just put in a bearing for now, how long do you think it would last? Providing that the crank and rod arent completly ruined

01 ZO6, he can not afford to fix it? Sounds like a good buy to me. How much for the car?
