There is no way to reliably dry sleeve an LS1 block. The LS1 is wet sleeve (MID) only. Dry sleeve would need an LS2 or LS7 block with Darton Seal Tight dry liners.

aha thanks
so how much for a 427 or larger used ls1 wet darton sleeved short block using eagle or compstar rods and crank with no core .... looks like a great option with stage 3 241 heads .... it says 5.7 on the block right? sleeper!

Turn Key builds twin turbo engines 900 - 950 to the wheels using my Darton Seal Tight dry liner sleeved blocks. Erik has one of his customers over a thousand.
You need to build the engine right so you keep it out of detonation and also make sure the cooling system is up to the task so you do not over heat the engine.

What would you do to your cooling system other then a bigger radiater and maybe a cooler t-state?

The combustion heat from making more power is what makes detonation more likely, not sleeving the block.
I recommend Evans coolant pump with the correct pulley diameter for your application. You want to keep the pump rpm below 5,500 at max. engine rpm. A bigger radiator is useless if the coolant pump cavitates and doesn't pump coolant out of the block.
Also for racing you want to leave out the stat for maximum flow. A small restrictor may be required in some applications.

i posed a similar question a couple weeks ago, i had wanted to make my ls1 400+ci, but the responses i got said that the stock block and sleeves can only be bored and stroked to 383, but you can resleeve your block to get your desired displacement. but they said that it is very pricey and a hassle and sometimes problems can arise from it. i was told it would be cheaper to either get a 6.0L iron block, or an ls2 block
no i did't mean with the stock LS1 5.7 seelves , i meant aftermarket sleeves , we have here one shop said he can install block sleeves that we can run 427 stroker in a LS1 , so all what i need i want to be sure , is that true he can make it ? and it's safe for N/A application and high CR.
