Need ideas for getting valve keepers loose
Need ideas for getting valve keepers loose when working on #8 and limited space. Are there anyother ways of freeing them without having to bang on it to hard. This is the tool I have been using which worked great on all the other springs

Re: Need ideas for getting valve keepers loose That #8 valve spring can be a little tricky. Install your spring compressor and compress the spring until the valve stem starts comming through the top of the retainer. Then insert the tip of a screwdriver between the locks and tap on the screwdriver. You might have to compress the spring a little more and tap on it again. You should be able to loosen the locks. Re: Need ideas for getting valve keepers loose Tap on the retainer with a socket and a small hammer a fwe times to loosen the locks. Then, you shouldn't have many problems after this.

Re: Need ideas for getting valve keepers loose If you put that cylinder at TDC, when the valve hits the piston the locks will come free from the retainer. Sometimes they'll even go flying, so make sure you have extras, or a net
