i put the cam in a few days ago. ill get a tune for it soon.

now, anyone think i gained any horsepower over my stock LS6 cam? im using the stock rockers so i lost .025" of lift....more duration make up for it?

i really got it just because i like the way LS motors sound with the 112 or closer cams...

I have been running a hotcam copy from him for about a year now with no issues... Paid $160 for cam and springs, but if you want to pay $600 have a ball.

did you use longer pushrods to make up for the reduced base circle?

That would be the correct way to do it. I have to agree that there is nothing wrong with using a reground cam, so long as it is done by a good grinder. You could still have a Chet Herbert regrind a few years ago, but I'm not sure that they still do that or not. What IS wrong is someone profiting off of someone else's hard work. You made the right choice by not supporting the copycats.

my thoughts are, you get what you pay for. i do like to save some money when it makes sense. but i wanted to know that im getting the cam i want. the "copy" probably doesnt have the same lobe profiles, like someone mentioned already.

just because other guys are not having problems with the copy cams, doesnt mean they are as good.

and for the record, i only paid 375 for the kit. i dont need the springs so ill sell them for a few bucks...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have purchased three of the cams, and installed two of them. The first one was an LS6 copy that doesnt run at all like a stock LS6 cam. The idle is choppy.
The next cam was an LS6 copy purchased from the same guy in Texas. This cam was ground so bad that the engine wouldnt idle on two cylinders. It was removed (after a lot of troubleshooting because heads and intake were done at the same time) and replaced with a factory GM LS6 cam. The factory cam Idles and works great. I am re4placing the other copy in the other car with a GM cam.

I contacted the Ebay guy from Texas, that I purchased them from two times, and he never got back to me. I would never use a reground cam again, it is not worth the headache.
