Cam & Emissions???
Depends on what type of emission test is being done. What type of testing do they do in your state?
Sniffer ~224 cam on ~114 LSA is passible with tweaks and tuning. Some have even when a little larger with perfect tune and passed. Will want cats etc for this.
OBD-II if the scan of the computer is good, it's good. If the tune is right and PCM set up properly and you use O2 simm on the rear O2's etc your good to go
Visual - depends on how through they are. You should fail with long tubes if they see even with cats, but usually if the see the cats they are ok with it.
Roller Test - I have no experience with this so I don't know.

They are now starting the OBD-II test on the cars here now. They don't really seem to care about the headers so much either. The main reason I am asking is right now there are no cats on my wife's car and we just put a cam in the car. Now she is deciding whether or not to go with cats to help out on the visual criteria, but I don't want to spend money on cats if it would not do any good. The cam is a little larger than a 224 too.
Brian,
I had the OBD II test last year in Vegas. All they did was scan the computer to see if all the smog stuff was working per factory spec. They never checked anything else. I get mine tested at E. Trop and Mountain Vista.

If you get someone with ls1edit, they can basically tell your computer to "keep a secret." So if they do the OBDII test on your car, your computer will say, "Yup, everything is ok here" and then you pass emissions.

TTT on this one I'd like to see more info and experiences... I'm in Oregon and all they do is the computer plug in I don't think they even pop the hood. I'm putting a 230/228 with a 112 in and would love to do an off road pipe with the long tubes. If that would pass emissions here that would be SWEET!
Basically. They might get suspicious about a car that is real lopey, but there is a chance that they wont know whats going on. I have read of a couple guys who had 112LSA and made it past emissions.
Or if you just wanted gutted cats, you can get o2 sims and they replace the o2 sensor behind the cat. That way the o2 sims tell you computer that everything is fine, even though your helping to increase the o-zone layer.
I'll see if I can get a guy I know chime in here. He knows a bunch about the ls1edit program.

I've always been told that 224 w/114LSA is about as big as I could go and still pass the sniffer... but NC doesn't have a sniffer on OBDII cars, so that isn't as much of an issue as if it tosses a code.
I just failed in NY; car is H/C with LTs and cats... NY is sniffer test.
Cam 220/220, 564/564, 112 LSA
Heads - LS6 ported CR = 11.2 to 1.
Headers = flp with cats...
My hydro carbons are 73 and the limit is 60.. I aded 4 cans of carb cleaner to the gas but it did not help...
I'll tune it on LS1Edit today - Ltrims high. I hope this works...
