Default Installing new valve seals have ???'s

I bought a set of 243's and the Patriot golds to go with it. I have a question about how far the valve seal is suppose to go down the valve. What is the proper way to install these, cause I don't want to redo this due to a oil issue. Thanks in advance.

You can buy something like this: http://www.streetperformance.com/par...1708-5334.html

Or find a correctly sized socket and tap them down. All you have to do is make sure your shims and spring seat are both installed, then tap on the valve seals.

It's hard to describe, but when you tap them on you'll feel them seat. It's not difficult at all.

The "proper" thing to also do is use the valve stem condom looking deal (should come with the seals?) to put over the top of the valve which prevents damaging the inside of the seal when it initially goes over the valve stem and when it passes over the keeper grooves....I use lots of oil when assembling the seals and valves...and I think it's something like a deep 10mm socket? you can use to knock em down....

I usually use a 12 mm socket. Make sure you use some oil to lube the seal. Tap it with a hammer. You will hear the difference when it hits bottom. Good luck.

i used a deep 8mm socket and just took off the spring at the top of the seal so it doesnt get damaged and tapped it on with a hammer... the bottom of the seal will not touch the seat, it will have a little bit of space inbetween
then after that i reinstalled the little spring on the seal
