So tell me if I messed up bad

My car has been broke since November 6, 2008, due to shitty stock hyudralics, i managed to break my 2nd gear. My transmission has been out of the car since the end of November and has been sitting ever since at school in pieces (sigh). I am just saving up very very slowly for my rebuild I want. (tick stage 2, and tick adj. with new slave and second). Now comes to ?. am i looking into more problems because she has been sitting so long. The car has been sitting with a cover on it and battery disconnected for over 4 months. Will I have to replace all the tires (flatspots)? Will the car start? I did not put stabilizer in the gas tank. The ypipe is resting on the ground... does that mean that contaminants could of got up to the block and now my engine is toast? I really dropped the ball in not worrying about these things earlier.. wow im dumb. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks ls1tech.

i wouldnt worry too much, a lot of people let cars sit far longer than 4 mo. with out issues. i just let my car sit all winter with the battery still connected and no stabil in the gas and it started right up. so you should be good.

ITS NOT THAT BAD!!! lol

It's ok might take a few laps around the block to get the tires round.Car will have to relearn everything but that won't take long and you might have a few spiders hiding in there but it will be good to go.

Engines that have sat for 30 years,

and more have been cranked into life. Four months is nothing, just take a good battery with you and give it a good long crank with the fuel pump fuse or relay out to get the oil pressure up, before you fire it up.

Hahaha up here in Canada my car went into storage in October. I will hopefully get a chance to bring it back out in the next two weeks.

I simply disconnected my battery just like every year. When its time to go in the spring I hook the battery back up and fire it up.

I always have a full tank of gas on the car and change fluids the first day I take it out of storage.

Your car will be fine

Just started mine for the 1st time in about 3 years and it fired right up.
Put some seafoam in the tank just in case if you're worried, but I wouldn't be.

BTW don't ever say your car is BROKE.

my car sits for ~5 months at a time depending on whether or not i go home during the semester (college too), every time i come home the battery has been dead so i just bought a trinkle charger and a cover... my SOB dad never touches the car no matter how much i ask and last time i went home mold developed inside the car pretty bad.... cost him a pretty penny for the detailing- paybacks a bitch

You're fine. Anything over six months I would recommend using stabil and setting the car on stands.

dont worry, but id change my oil after first startup. just in case moisture has intruded due to sweating during climate changing. if it was in a heated area, may not have to worry about moisture so much, but if it were mine i would change it anyway. tires should come out of it...if not just "burn off" the flat spots on the back, then rotate tires front to back, and burn off again!!! but seriously, the tires should come back in a few miles on a warm road. having a LS1 down that long will make you appreciate it when you get back in it again-have fun!!!

you can make your own adjustable master to save money too. I have the die and nuts and could send them over. All you need is the adjustable ball joint part which is around $10-15 shipped
