Hey guys I had a few questions I just acquired a hypertech III programmer for my truck and I was wondering what kind of off the shelf spark plugs and wires are good for the 04 5.3l. what plugs are going to give me the most power I've been told by some that the standered resister plugs for some reason are the best way to go but I dont know. Also any other off the shelf Ideas would greatfully be appreciated. Things to come are Ls6 heads, Z06 hot cam, and Ls6 Intake manifold. Thanks in Advance!

I prefer the AC Delco iridium plugs and MSD plug wires. Are you planning to do headers? I recommend headers for your first mod, you'll need to get your computer tuned, but it isn't hard. I just helped my buddy put longtubes in my buddies 01 Silverado 5.3L.

Welcome and be prepared to lose your grip with your wallet. Also, take the programmer back and get your money back if it is not to late. There are better tunes for less available.

Sell the POS programmer and put the money towards a real tune. HPP3's were great for their time back when no other tuning was available, but aren't worth anything anymore in comparison to a real tune.
Run an NGK copper TR-55 plug, cost you about $2 per plug. Do not waste your money on expensive plugs.
