Going Bigger Cubes - What options??
Not really sure what would be the best engine combination though - 383? 402? 408?
I plan on driving the car on the street 90% of the time, but it won't be a daily driver, and maybe take it to the strip once in a while. Don't plan on going FI, and probably not even run nitrous. I think I will just keep it N/A. I want to be over 500 RWHP and 500 TQ.
What would be the best option for me to go with?
Also, who should I get the engine from and who should I have build it? I'm located in north Florida.

How much cash do you have to throw at this build?
That $10k includes the complete engine (heads/cam.. everything), exhaust, intake, new clutch, and injectors.
Is that a realistic number for everything? Just kinda adding up stuff in my head.. Will it be more? Less?

For $10,000 you can have much more than 500 RWHP with great daily drivability.
Get something like this, around $4,500.

Ported L92 heads and a L76 intake, maybe $2,100. Cam in the mid to high 230's and you'll make about 530-550 RWHP (M6) and have a very nice smooth idle.

Just assuming from your username, you have a 427, right?
I have ported LS6 heads and ported LS6 intake, stock ported TB. 11.3:1 compression, my cam is a 244/244 .610/.610 114 lsa. Idles so close to stock after its warmed up and I made 490 RWHP.
You can do the same thing...427 cubes...but use the new L92 ported heads and ported L76 intake, 90mm TB, smaller cam in the mid to upper 230's, same compression, and you'll easily make 530-550 RWHP, probably more. Less than $10,000 for sure. Great reliability, should last for 100,000+ miles.
L92 heads and L76 intake, 90mm TB....will stomp my LS6 stuff. Thats where the extra power will come from between my 427 and a new one.

But for a budget engine, and still top of the line parts....L92/L76/90mm TB will surpass your 500 RWHP goal easily with a 427ci and it'll be cheaper than going AFR/FAST 92.
And I don't even think the AFR's flow as good as ported L92's. Have to check that, either way they are very close.

They flow 320 cfm on the intake and 250 cfm on the exhaust port. Cubic feet per minute of air flow.
Ported L92 heads beat them pretty good and I think they're about $800-$1,000 less. They flow in the mid 360's on the intake.

There's alot of ways to screw up an engine build. Only one way to really build them right.
