damn only new trucks, that would be so awesome if I had better heads on my 2001 tahoe 5.3 Oh well.

Stock heads ok i have a 2000 camaro. ok all i hear is (i have stock 243 heads). i have 853 heads so are mine stock to if so are mine better that 243 heads and on top of that are 5.3 heads better. im talking making power.
fbodys never came with 243 heads. The 243 casting only came on the ls6 and some ls2s. And no, the 243 is far superior to the 853 casting, and since your car is a 2000 im pretty sure you should have 241's, which are only slightly better than 853's.
It depends on when in 2000 your car was made. My car was made in november of 2000 and has 241 heads. The 243 heads came on the ls6, ls2, the 4.8l chevy pickup ( this I know for sure) and I believe the 5.3 truck heads are 243 as well.
I don't think the 5.3 and 4.8 has 243's I believe 243's only came in ls6 and some ls2's.
