Default TPIS cam recommendations

Living in Minnesota the only place in town to go for go fast goodies is TPIS. I know they are not a sponsor but MTI does sell there headers. So my question is this: On their website they say that the largest cam they offer/recommend for a stock bottom end ls1 is something like 220 duration and 560 lift. How can this be?

please help

That may be all they offer, but you can go much bigger if you choose. You can mail order from anywhere so I don't see where there would be a problem. TPIS should install anything you want???

Try Hi-Tech Motorpsorts in Ramsey and ask for Brian. They dyno tuned my car with LS1Edit. They also did a custom cam for a friend and he dyno'd 406 rwhp with cam, cutout, long tubes and lid on stock heads. This is a M6 car.

They have cams that are in the 230/590 range so why would they say that a 220/560 cam is the largest cam you can run with a stock bottom end LS1?

I understand that some cams require fly cutting the pistions but there are people running these bigger cams without flycutting the pistons.

Have you really seen much of TPIS in the LS1 market. Yes, they were a big player in the L98 and LT1 market. They don't seem to be "out there" as much as they were. They are simply behind the times. That statement would have been true in 1999...
