Default Quench Calculation

Ok, I may be a noob but is there any info on calculating this so I can choose the right head gasket in relation to my compression. What all do I need to figure out, my buddy is testing me and wants me to find out before he does haha

Put the piston at TDC and check how far in or out of the cylinder bore the piston is with a dial indicator.

Minus that number from your compressed headgasket thickness = your quench distance .

You need the total package to determine the CR.
CC of combustion chamber
pistons dished?
flycut?
How far above the deck the piston is?
What CR are you looking to get to?

More info needed.

If you want the number to be exact, be sure to rock the piston when measuring.

I would reccomend reading THIS. It is a little something I wrote a while back that will explain pretty much everything you need to know about "quench".
