Default How can I tell what block I have?

Simply put, that is what I would like to know. I have an '02 Z and want to know if I have an LS6 block. Any information will be appreciated.

You need to get under your car with a bright light and look at the back end of the block, right below the driver side cylinder head. There is a number there; that number must be 12561168 to be an LS6 block. Any other number and it's an LS1 block. Also read this thread:

besides the pcv system......whats the difference between the blocks?
