Default Suggestions on Heads

After some financial delays, Im finally back on track for my heads and cam combo. Ive alrady picked out the cam that I am going to use. I was originally looking at a g5x3, but I got a great price on a similar used cam. The specs are 238/244 .605/.612 114+2. Now its time to decide on what heads to pair them off with. I am on a bit of a budget, so things like AFRs andsuch are a little out of my range for the time being. I was looking at ported 243 castings, but I have heard some people reccomend 5.3 heads. Id like to get a little input on places to start looking. Thanks a lot!

Honestly what i am going to do and highly reccomend is getting yoru stock heads ported by Lloyd Elliot. He is amazing! Just email him and he will port his heads to your cam. He's doing my heads. Best comminication of any other sponsor imo too.

Too big of a cam for your intake.
Trick to making power is BALANCED COMBO.
Pick the heads you want, spec a custom cam that fit the head flow characteritics.

5.3L are good bang for $$, pair that with a custom cam and you are in business.

Predator-
Thanks for the advice. I know that the cam outclasses the LS6 at the moment, but the intake will be getting replaced with a ported FAST 90/90. I would like to try do what you suggested, but in reverse to find a set a set of heads whos characteristics work well with the specs of the cam.

On the other point, from what Ive read 243s seem to give better numbers than the 5.3s. Even though the 5.3s are the best bang for buck, would the extra bit of cash for the 243s give a better end result?

If you have money TEA TFS215's would be nice. If your strapped for cash I would go with a 5.3 head to use that little bump in compression to gain some torque back
