LS7 Lifters with new PRs
("be able to rev 1k more" is in reference to being capable of, not making your engine actually rev 1k more.) On another note, I wouldn't just slap in a set of LS7 lifters and your pushrods without knowing the pushrod length. I made that mistake by listening to the internet racers on this forum and now I'm messing with a lifter that's damn near bottomed out. (waiting to install shorter pushrods) The LS7 lifters have a HIGHER plunger height effectively giving you MORE lifter preload with the same pushrod as you would have used on your stock LS1. On the contrary, with LS7 lifters and my 224/228 cam I'm having to go with a .050" shorter pushrod to get me back to .075" lifter preload. Right now I'm at .125" and that's too much for my liking.

How are you measure the actual plunger depth?
What tools and procedure are you using to check the pushrod length?
