In fact I went to the track Friday night. I was fairly pleased with the numbers considering the conditions but I know there's still a good bit left.
It was 75 degrees (I can't wait for some cold weather!), 30.06 baro, and 61% humidity for a DA of 1477.
The track just wasn't there Friday. I couldn't pull the 1.5s I was hoping for. Not even close. Each pass was a struggle for traction and it only got worse as the night progressed. The best slip read...
1.683

4.822
7.435 @ 93.85
11.632 @ 116.92
The best MPH of the night was 117.09.
Strange one. I had just gotten it dialed in to running 117 when I got low on gas. Up until this point I'd been running on 93 octane gas but I had a few gallons of OLD racegas leftover from when I was running the black car (over a year ago.) I thought I'd toss it in and bump the timing advance at WOT up three degrees (I was running about 25 degrees at 6000 before.) The car never ran 117 again after the fuel change. I think the stuff was just too old. It even made the car run lean to begin with which was strange for simply changing from 93 to racegas.
For anyone not familiar with the setup...
STOCK 3.23 gears
3525 lb raceweight
Fast Toys Ram Air
MTI Lid
GMS MAF sensor
Ported TB
NGK TR-6 plugs
QTP 1 3/4" headers and Y-pipe
3" QTP electric cuttout
Lowered the car approximately 1 1.5" by cutting the front springs and removing the rear spring cushions.
LCA relocators
Fikse FM-5 17" wheels
315/35/17 Nitto drag radials
ACPT carbonfiber driveshaft
TCI 3500 converter
TCI shift kit
TCI tranny cooler
LS1 Edit programming
160 degree thermostat
Removed spare tire, jack, and tunnel brace.
MTI Stage II LS6 heads with Femera valvesprings
MTI Stealth II cam (224/220 .581/.581 116 LSA)
Stay tuned. It's only going to get better from here.
Glad to hear he's got your car launchin' hard though.
My friends full weight Z28 weighed 3650 with ET Streets (he's 200 lbs). For your raceweight to be 125 less than that with huge 17x11's on the back you have to have done a reasonable amount of weight redux to get there. K-member and A-Arms perhaps?

My 17x11s are Fikses. They are lighter than you think. Other things to consider...
9.5" converter. It weighs 31 lbs. The stock one weighs 52.
Headers are much lighter than stock manifolds...especially when your Y-pipe has no cats.
The spare tire, jack, and that metal thingamajig (get's in the way of the large y-pipe) that some people call a tunnel brace have been removed. Of course, in the spare tire and jack's place is a 600 watt amp which is by no means as heavy as they were.
An underdrive pulley is far lighter than stock.
The airpump has been removed.
The battery I replaced the crappy Delco with is 12 lbs lighter than the original.
It has a carbon fiber driveshaft (~5 lbs lighter than stock.)
That weight was with a basically empty gas tank and no washer fluid in the resevior.
The K-member and A-arms are stock. If they weren't, they'de be listed in my mod list. :p And yes, the hood is stock, the bumper supports are still in place, and it has a full interior including all seats, panels, carpet and deadening, etc, etc, etc...everything.
I weigh 175.
Technically, an aftermarket airlid makes your car not "full weight."
Anyway, that's what it weighed.

Well his got the slip to prove it. I am sure the car is there, there is no reason for him to lie about weight, either way i think those are some sick first time numbers.
But I also know that MTI uses Manely springs so I would put my confidence there if a really aggresive cam is being used. I'm not putting 918s down, I read almost nothing but good about them nowadays. No doubt, titanium retainers are best.
