Default Working on being in the 10's cam only

I have a G5X2 on order from Lou, and a PT4600. The car will be stripped as much as possible to get to the goal. What I'm worried about though is the LG line of cams are putting down great times, but Mike ran a 10.98 with a way smaller cam, a PT4400, 4.10 gears and 3300 pounds. Now what has me worried is the car with the G5X2, heads, 4.10, 4400 yank stall, and around 3400 pounds ran a 10.89. Now am I being crazy to think that heads should have made that time lower? I'm not interested in dyno numbers, but more interested in the 10 second time slip cam only. Did I get the right cam for my goal?

You are leaving out two important things...

WEATHER
WEIGHT

Now my buddy Magnus just went 11.49 with a SI setup. Raceweight is just under 3000. The DA might have been 1500, so if he can make the car stick in November up here in Chitown the car will go an 11.3 with no other change. That's with a 3.42 too.

Those LA folks get some very nice weather and that track hooks really well... They have everything going their way.

I'd say if you are under 3300 raceweight, and the weather is good, and the track hooks you might get there. But if you were under 3200 I'd say you'd be there for sure.

There is a guy around here with the G5X2, and a 3000 raceweight who ran a 10.9 w/that cam, and all the other bolt ons, thats it...

Ok sounds like I'm on the right track then. If I could find some info on flycutting the pistons myself I would call Lou back and change once again to the G5X3. As long as I see that 10.99 I'll be happy. The track here blows, but its what I'll have to practice on intill I have the money for a cage and whatever else you need to run at the nice tracks.

We don't get the cool weather here like in Chicago, but you will have the ingredients if you get a cold Texas day. ( they are not too common here) you can see all the low ets from up north in the 40 to 50 degree days/nights.
The good thing about Texas is that we can race 12 months per year. So you will find a Jan or Feb day that can match the northern weather.

thanks for picking the G5X-2 for your cam.
