Default Mechanical Oil Pressure gage - Where to hook in?

What is the best place to hook in a mechanical oil pressure gage?

The stock unit is obviously behind the intake and the motor is in the car. I need to check my pressure and see if the pressure really is 25 psi or if its my sending unit/sensor.

Most people drill and tap the bypass (for lack of the proper term) that is just above the oil filter. Two bolts and it come off.

Drivers side of the block down in the very front. It would be under the alternator in a C5. Theres is a plug in the block that you can remove and attach your guage there.
