Default rough idle and suddenly rich

ok so i went to the track yesterday and everything was fine... today when i went to drive it it was fine until about 5-10 min of driving then it started idling lower than normal and was pretty rough... the a/f is also much richer than it usually is. seems to feel fine when driving but its hard to tell... there is a small amount of smoke (kinda bluish coming out of exhaust) any ideas... does it sound like a spark/ ignition problem? any help is appreciated

thanks, Gary

its in speed density but at the track i did run 110 leaded race gas which i heard was bad for the o2 sensors but i only ran like 3 gallons

Ya, it could be o2's. o2's and race gas don't mix. Usually they don't foul out just after one time of race gas. As for the blueish smoke thats interesting. blue smoke usually means worn vavle guides and piston rings.

Ya i unplugged mine when they went bad. Drive around alittle and see how the car re-acts. by the way Denso o2's are alittle better i hear for race gas. I ordered some today actually. Been driving around with unplugged o2's in open loop for two years now. Time to give the denso's a try

yea the little bit of blue smoke is whats really got me worried as well... i couldn't see the guides being bad as the heads only have a few thousand miles on them rings... i hope not.. ill check the o2's then ill do a compression/ leak down test when i go home Sunday (crossing my fingers everything checks out ok as ive only got like 12,000 miles on this motor)

could a bad plug wire be a culprit.. making it run on only 7 cylinders.. wouldn't that shove a bit of extra unburnt fuel through making the a/f ratio look rich and it would obviously run rougher...

oh yeah lol. sometimes plug wires can be a real pain in the ***. I've had plenty of plug wire issues where they slip off and God knows what else. There similar symptoms that you have. Along with back firing and popping from the exhaust. Hope the best for you though buddy!

Are you running an open loop sd tune or closed loop? If open loop, your o2 sensors are not functioning anyways, so this will do nothing. Maybe you fouled a plug with the race fuel or something weird. Check the pcv system too. Maybe if you are running open loop your IAT sensor took a dump and is tricking the computer for airmass calculations.
