Cometick Gasket Thickness?
I am doing a head a LS6 head swap and am trying to get everything I need together to do it once I get the heads back and I was looking at getting some Cometic MLS head gaskets from Texas Speed and was wondering what the best thickness is for best quench in the LS1?
They offer them in .040, .045, .051. I'm not sure if this is the compressed thickness or not, maybe Matt could pipe in and give me advice on this area??
I'm also buying a ported oil pump, hardened pushrods while I'm changing the cam and heads.

When you get the heads taken off measure the distance the pistons are in or out of the hole. Then, order your head gaskets from there. .040-.050 is a really good quench distance.

Aren't most LS1's -.008 out of the head? Would I be safe just to get the .045's?
