Default Seafoam WTF?????

I just ran seafoam through my 99 T/A, it took out both my O2 sensors. Has this happened to anyone else. When i first started my car up after letting it set for 5 minutes it gave out a small puff of smoke then nothing. I took it for a test drive and it worked fine. Then after driving it for about 20 minutes the SES light popped on with the O2 sensor codes. Can i fix this somehow?

Give it a little while and it should clear up.

I usually only seafoam an engine right before a plug change/oil change. Once it's ran through and done smoking, I immediately shut it down and change the oil. Changing the plugs is probably me just being ****, but it's $18 and 20 minutes so it's worth not having to worry about it later.

Could be other reasons, How old are the sensors, do you have headers, ect? Maybe the carbon build up is that bad. I have had O2 codes before, but not because of Seafoam there were already other reasons.

seafoam is O2 friendly but sometimes the crud that busts loose from treating the engine isn't so friendly

what i always do is run a good dose of seafoam through a couple tanks of gas before doing the actual treatment through the intake, running it through a couple tanks of gas will clean a lot more than you think it will

when it does clear up the diff. will be noticeable, esp if the engine had a hi level of gunk and carbon buildup

When i started it up it didnt smoke hardly at all. It would be like a puff on a smoke. But other than that no smoke came out. I am trying to pull all the O2 sensors out and clean them after that i am going to see what happens.

Do you have catalytic converters on your car? I noticed at least with my truck which doesn't have cats it barely smoked, but my car smoked a ton and it has cats.

Either way, you have to change the o2's now.. Change them, keep the old one, so that if you ever do a seafoam again, you can throw in the old ones...

Typical to change plugs, oil, and 02's after Seafoam. Just to cover all bases.
