Default update

got it started
so the problem was the morel link bar lifters that i was using......they were apparently getting sidelocked in the bore or whatever they were doing they were just stuck, replaced them with some caddy lifters and now it runs great!!!

yeah i know i tryed everything, the lifters were stuck-all installed correctly as there is pretty much no way to screw up lifter installation.

I still don't understand if they were stuck how did the engine cycle or no bent rods? or any resistance.

the engine didn't cycle, i got it to run for a second but that was only on 3 cylinders so i decided to try to get the other ones exactly like the #1 cylinder than ran, and as i was turning the motor over by hand i noticed that the other rockers weren't moving at all. no bent rods or valves because on the other cylinders the valvetrain wasn't doing anything, and on the three cylinders that worked the lifters were working just fine??? i'm stumped on why this happened i heard of the link bar lifters not working right on some people's cars, and mine just happen's to be one of them. Lifter cups work just fine don't fix it if it aint broke.

thanx did more research and there have been a few cars that this has happened to, and if there is someone reading this cuz they are thinking about getting the morel link bar lifters... don't unless its a built shortblock just get the regular morels and some ls2 lifter cups...you'll have no problems and still have the best quality lifters.

Used a million of these with no issues on any engine ever. They are taller by around .050 or a lil more so you probably had the valves hanging open if you had any backfires. You should have went with a .050 or more shorter pushrod unless I am missing something. I've seen that happen maybe 10 times already with the Morels on link bars and drop ins.

i put a .050 smaller pushrod in and i made sure the valves werent hanging open by doin a compression test and it still did the same thing-morel is gonna inspect the set of lifters i had to make sure it wasn't a bad batch........we will see
