Winston Cup Technology coming to LS1. . .
available for the LS1 8mm bead groove valve at the first of the year. The super 7 was developed around the Winston Cup engine builders for its clamping
ability. If a spring was to break, the valve could drop and damage the engine. The Super 7's design characteristics prevents this by allowing the retainer/lock/and valve to "stay together." This is why you here of Cup engines running several laps with broken springs, where as conventional stuff will pop out when a spring breaks. . .drop the valve. . .and then it gets expensive.
The keepers are fully CNC machined from alloy steel and are black oxided. These locks will fit any Super 7 style Titainium retainer along with a new 1.250" retainer that will be available also.

Here's a pic of my solid roller valvetrain (with them, if what Paul said is true for me
)http://akmcables.com/srheads.jpg
Look like locks to me, guess they work better than conventional locks.

Will these be able to be "retrofitted" without dissasembling the head?
To retro the valve lock on to installed cylinder heads is very simple with the aid of a spring compressor and compressed air by way of a fitting screwed into the spark plug hole. Lock will have to be used with correct retainers to fit the valve spring. 2 new valve springs will be introduced late this year that are designed for the LS1. One of the springs is a "drop in" 1.250" spring with 135# on the seat and 340# open and will handle .630" at the 1.800" install height.
