Maybe I'm just too used to the SBC's... I just figure that 230cc's is WAY too much for a non-stroked LSx to be used as a daily/street machine. If I was going all out up to 7k, I would say yeah, but it just seems like you'd loose a lot of torque with such large runners. I was looking around and found a company Direct Motion that does a core exchange CNC porting for either 243/317 castings for $250 each with 220cc intake runners and 86cc exhaust... flowing 309 at .600 and 316 at .650

It really depends how caked they are. |
On some I've been able to use gasoline to clean them.
On some I used brake cleaner, then wipe with gasoline, then squirt fresh thin film of oil and when all done, change the oil and filter. A couple of revolutions by hand (to oil the rings again), then wipe at TDC with an absorbant lint free cloth.

I just noticed you response.
Are you are really recommending gasoline as a cleaner/solvent?
As most folks know, that is an extremely unsafe thing to do. To recommend it to your host of young, loyal followers does them a great disservice. To recommend it be done with the engine still in the car which is probably in a garage is, IMO (which is NEVER humble), unconscionable.
I think you are stepping on you tie big time here, Fella.
Tell ya' what. You delete that recommendation and I will delete this post, assuming it doesn't get deleted for me.
