Opinions on Hammer Cam wanted

Raughammers webpage has a lot more cam info. I wouldn't go much bigger than a 224/224 112LSA cam if you drive the car often though.
Best of luck

Here's the deal Ray, they are doing the same testing now here for all OBD2 cars.
1, they are checking for set codes, no codes means you're clean
2. they also check the 5 continuous monitors. THere are 5 tests the PCM runs constantly, including for the AIR pump, EGR, cat function (which is done with the rear O2 sensors), gas cap pressure, and something else I can never remember.
According to my research, you are allowed to fail any 2 of the 5, meaning pass three and you are clear. So you could delete the AIR and EGR and still pass even with like longtubes as long as you use o2 simulators in place of the rear O2 sensors (which is what my setup is like).
The problem with the bigger cams is the lopier they get the more tendency it is for the crank position sensor to pick up the lope as a miss, and you will set a missfire code.
LS1 edit can take care of several of these problems, you can turn off the crank position sensor or just turn off the missfire code.
YOu can also go in and turn off the EGR and AIR checks/codes and delete the post-cat 02 sensors, but its best to use 02 simms and leave the cat function test intact to make sure you can pass 3 of the 5 monitor tests.
So theoretically you could run any cam you want, but the wilder you get the more issues with missfire codes and driveability you have, and if you go in to test, like I did, and they have any trouble connecting to your PCM, they can do the tailpipe test as a backup, so you still need to be prepared to pass it.
A guy here locally is running longtubes, TEA stage 2 heads and the Thunder 224/224 cam with EGR and AIR totally deleted physically and in the PCM and he passed the OBD2 test with absolutely no issues. </font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">

<strong> Thanks for your comment on valvetrain noise, I8COBRA. Some noise is acceptable to me. I'm also thinking about going with dual springs. BTW, I noticed in your sig you list a C1 with 114 LSA; I thought all of the C1s were 112 LSA? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes they are, mines a special grind <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
<strong> Oh BTW, Reboot and AINT SKEERED, how much valve train noise are you guys getting with the C1? </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I have almost none. The lighter LS6 valves may have something to do with it though.

I doubt the hollow LS6 valves could explain that, but whow knows. Are you using the stock LS6 springs and pushrods?
