Default question about el torro

I am selling my tsp heads cam kit to free up some cash but plan on runnin cam only. I already have some brand new hardened 7.400 pushrods, would they be ok or should I get some 7.425's? And how does it like nitrous? I am running a 100 shot now but I will be running a 150-175 on a progresive cont. To help with traction.

You can run 7.400 but it might be noisy on intake. It varies from car to car.
Up to 150 shot yes it will accept that but more I suggest ruunning 4*more duration on exhaust. Like
230/234 .612/.598 111+3 LSA

What are the specs for El Toro's big brother? Would you also recommend 7.425 pushrods for that cam?

On LS1/LS6 lifters, in cam only applications, yes 7.425s

Big Bro is 236/236 .615/.602 111+0 LSA

Would Big Bro like the spray(100-150 shot)?

I'm looking to go cam only, spray in the future. Which cam would you recommend, El Toro or Big Bro?

Daily driven 98' LS1 lt's & 3.5'' single exhaust, 3800 Stall

El toro would be better suited for your needs. Big Bro is pushing the limits at stock compresion.

How is the big bro pushing the limits? Are you saying that with no2 it would be pushing the limits? Because i plan to build a NA DD and i was thinking of the big bro. How does the big bro create more compression than other large cams such as the MS3?

Thanks.

Big Bro is actualy a Reverse split at .006 and .200 lifts. (as is El Toro). So there are parameters of operation. At a certtain point it becomes necessary to increase exhaust.
The whole point of El Toro and derivatives is to harness as much area under the curve while still producing high rpm push.
On stock compression Big Bro is on the border of that parameter. It has later IVC, will peak later, equidistant IVO/EVC from TDC (it will carry far into the rpms), requires true dual with X exhaust, 14* overlap (not for the faint of heart)
Basicaly it will come on later in the rpms but still produce high midrange trq. It will require tighter gears in M6 to get into the powerband. But that powerband is fat.
It is more for a weekend warrior that still like to drive on the street.

These are the differences in Valve events:

Big Bro;

0.050
236/236
111 LSA
111 ICL

7>IVO
49>IVC
49>EVO
7>EVC
111>ECL
14* overlap

MS3

0.050
236/242
112 LSA
108 ICL

10>IVO
46>IVC
57>IVO
5>EVC
116>ECL
15* overlap

The are actualy slightly different animals, both dangerous in their own rights in the right combination. (As El Toro has shown)

I have a couple more questions regarding this cam. Would it be a good match for my stall and gears? (Circle d 4c 3600-3800 and stock 3.23's). And what badass name would you give this cam?
