I run a thicker oil Also for added break down protection, And put about 500 mile on mine before running her hard.

I have not seen much of a difference really. If things are done right there will be no real break in period but you might see a tiny bit if they set stuff up too tight or if the rings / hone job was not that good etc. Otherwise there should be no large changes really after the first few dyno pulls. That is after seeing stuff from years gone by and stuff with only like 6 months on it and race stuff.

Modern rings are flat and round and the hone job should be too so things are pretty much good to go right away. On old stuff that had iron rings and coarse hone jobs and tight bearings I am sure they would pick up some power later on after breaking in some since they would seal up a lil better.
