Someone pleeeease help
ok i am freaking out, i just installed my new PRC 2.5 5.3 heads and a custom cam. the cam is a 232 236 with 648 lift. i talked to TSP twice and both times they told me that the PTV clearance would be fine. the heads were milled to 58cc's. it sounds like it might be coming from the front. im hoping that its the timing chain. but my friend who help put everything together thinks its the rockers.
it has perfect oil pressure, and runs fine except of course being the first start up after heads cam swap. i guess now i have to try to get thru tomorrow worrying about my car all day.

+1 for checking the ptv clearance before firing it up....
Do a leakdown or minimum a compression test to help diagnose what cylinder etc and leakdown will tell you if you did love tap a valve what valve hit, intake or exhaust
another thing that needs to be accounted for, for ptv clearance is cam timing, you could have a small cam but if that valve opens or closes too early or late something can hit.
I would do a compression test and go from there...

i really dont think its anything to do with PTV, everybody who has heard it says it sounds like the lifters, it is clicking sound, and i took it just a couple hundred yards down the street turned around and came back today. it is down on power but i would think after doing that, if it was valves hitting pistons, i would have really F'd something up. i will do a compression check tomorrow, then if its not good start tearing this damn thing apart again. i geuss i wont be driving it anytime soon. damn it. thats what i get for wanting more power. just couldnt be happy with 427 whp, had to get new heads and cam ****
