Question I have a dilema and need some advice

I have been slowly buying all the parts for a cam swap and now have all the parts. Now i am thinking with the way the economy is, and alot more parts are for sale, should i just hold off and buy a good forged stock cube short block and have some 243 heads done and build a motor or put the parts in my stock engine w/ 66xxx miles? Its not a daily driver but i still want reliability and with more power means more drivetrain wear, so a new tranny will be in the works soon too. Not sure what direction to go in and what will be better in the long run. Any adcvice would help thanks.

i would say do a little of both if you have the $. Especially if your going to do the cam swap yourself. Put the cam and all the parts on your engine now, then get a LQ4 or LS2 block and accumulate parts until you can get together a short block then just swap the parts onto the new engine.
