Default More info on the new AFRs

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=683267

First of all, thanks to Tony of Air Flow Research for making the two hour drive over here in the rain.
The head he brought over was a prototype , based on the LS6 head. The port was filled in with epoxy and then reshaped.
The actual castings are still at the foundry.
The port has been radically altered in a way no porter could do. The floor of the intake port has been raised approx. .500" and turned on it's axis. The short turn is much taller. The vein in front of the valve guide boss is extended behind the boss to kill the dead space behind the boss. This all requires ADDING material, not removing it. I'm very impressed with what has been done to this head. The velocity has to be increased dramatically. I'll bet there is a night and day difference in seat of the pants feel. Torque will be up a bunch. Peak flow numbers are up, which will definately increase peak horsepower, but I'm guessing the midrange will be dramatic.
The decks are much thicker than stock. There's more material above the intake port to support large roller springs.
The larger chambered heads (76 CC) will actually be thicker. The intake, exhaust bolt holes, and rocker bosses will be relocated accordingly so that pushrod length and manifold alignment will remain the same.
The smaller chambered heads (66CC) will be milled .060" or so and have all the holes in the stock location.
These will definately outperform any ported head out there ( Including my own).
I'm definately in the loop and will forward any new info I have.
Pricing will be at a 3% discount from retail. That's the max allowable. I will also have them at a wholesale level for shops wanting to buy in small quantities

Can't wait to see the results from these on a stock cube car and a LS6 or LSX intake.
