Default MS3 Cam reviews

Im pretty excited about getting this cam, I just need to hear your reviews on this cam and how you like it! I would like opions from A4 and M6 guys.

What is your daily driving like?
How well does it work with the converter size you have?

My friend just put one in his, and with ported heads, long tubes, the ms3 and a tune, he made 380 something to the ground. He's running a 12.5 with shitty tires and no suspension. So it's a decent cam from what I understand.

most people wouldnt suggest a cam that big for a daily driver. but people daily drive it with no problems. is your car a daily driver? or weekend strip/street car...

just look up TRMIN8R and all his vids of his car in action with that cam.

I have the ms3 and daily drive it with no problem on the factory 3.42s(m6). I put down 386/367 to the wheels with bolt ons, factory crank pulley, and ls1 intake manifold. I do notice the loss in low end power compared to the stock cam. Ex: I raced a stock SS from a 1st gear roll and he was next to me through first and second. Third I began to pull away a bit, and fourth which I was only on for a bit I began to run. Rev limiter is set to 6700rpm, and it pulls all the way up there. With 4.10s I'm sure this thing will have me **** myself from a second gear hit. Daily driving isn't bad I have gotten used to it, but everyone is different.

both me and my buddy have ms3 cams, mine in a 99z with stage 2.5 heads fast lt's etc, his cam only Lt's. We both went from 6 speeds with 3.42 gears to th350 and 400 swaps. With a good tune they are fine for daily driving imo. They both feel fine down low and pull like a freight train up top. He dynoed at 387&340tq i believe and i dynoed at 452&420tq.

Josh, you're gay. (It's Rob BTW.) I haven't heard any complaints about the MS3 either...

I made 410RWHP and 376RWTQ a while back with full exhaust, LS6 intake and UDP. It is very temperamental when driving in traffic though. But it rips at high RPM

Ditto on that. I put some 4:10's in the rear and it helped quite a bit getting into my powerband. Gears are definately a worth while mod with a cam this big. For me, the streetability factor is OK, I can tolerate it. But since it's not my daily driver, it doesn't bother me too bad.

no it was through an m6 with stock ten bolt, yeah they were great numbers unfortunatley i spun a rod bearing third pull on the dyno I didnt even get to really see what it would do with a good tune on it.

MS3 is a great higher RPM Cam. With other mods it is a good all around cam.
After some drive time I swapped my 3500 stall for a 4000 stall and my 3.23s for 3.73s and it now runs hard no matter the RPM.

Sounds great and runs hard! I recommend it but its not for everybody.

I have the MS3 with bolt on's dyno tuned etc...car is fast. I DD is every day...I love it. I get a little surge here and there around 1500rpms, but other then that not a single issue.

I run neck and neck with my buddys 03 pullied Terminator that put down 465rwhp and traps 116-119mph consistantly.

I have idle videos, race videos etc.... MY car runs good. Stock 3.42's, M6. I just ran it for the first time last week and was having trouble launching it (best 60' of the night was 2.5, yah...I know) but I was trapping 116 over and over again. I know if I can cut atleast a 2.0 60' I can get the trap up around 117.

Heres a idle video right after the cam install/dyno tune with the LM1 exhaust...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiP-no8FxMc

heres a idle clip with my factory SLP exhaust (put that back on, it was ridiculously loud with the LM1)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtLhC7NwBec

me vs a local turbo SI civic....put down 390whp. Ran 12.2 @ 118

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqPP2IeqvzI

me vs my buddys pullied cobra...sorry the video sucks but at the very end you can see he barely edges me out at 150 from a 65 roll.
