Default Backfire/hesitation under load/ after H/C swap

I just got done doing a Cam swap on my 99 corvette and when i started it up it ran fine. I drove it around a little bit and kept it under 2000rpm but i was having problems keeping it from stalling. I drilled a little hole in the throttle body and it started idling fine but now after i drive for a bit and come to a stop it will idle for about 3-5 seconds then let off a loud backfire (just one). It does not happen right when i let off but after i decelerate and the car is idle for a little while. Also when i try to get on it now it hesitates. The car has a 224 cam, and LT's. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. I ended up ripping out the old plugs and wires and she runs like a champ now! Easy Fix
