We've seen 20hp difference between a properly degreed cam and one thats off. We've seen a cam as much as 8* off before.

There are varying opinions on what is the "best bang for the buck" on LS engines. IMO, the best designed and executed combination for a given amount of bucks is the "best bang".

Remember that it's all about your combination. As was pointed out, 243s are very good heads with decent port volume. With just a little work and a very good valve job they consistently make great power and torque, especially combined with a well-matched cam.

It all comes down to if you are happy with how your combination performs. If you are trying to make a peak hp dyno-queen, then look for combinations that do that. If you are trying to make a quick, drivable street/strip car then you might look for "max area under the torque curve" combinations. 30 lb-ft extra at 3000 can make a car quicker than 15-20 more peak hp, but the dyno "bragging rights" might not be there.

Don't believe everything you read (including this post) without corroborative evidence.

Caveat emptor!

FWIW: Heads that encourage efficient "sucking" are good ones.

Your numbers do seem low. Have you checked to make sure your TB blade is opening all the way.

it really doesnt seem to be that down on power, every car is different. The clutch slipping could also make a difference. It could just be a few little things.

And that's why I degree all the cams I do. I bet if the OP degrees the cam he'll only find a degree or so and that will most likely be from the LS2 timing chain.

Also the graph he posted isn't in SAE so the #'s are going to be slightly lower than the posted #'s. For that size cam and PORTED LS6 heads it's deff. low #'s.

What does the A/F ratio look like I can barely read it on that chart...your clutch slipping could also be the reason for the power loss. I would degree the cam again just to make sure that it was properly installed. All dyno's are also different...
