Default cam..stock cr.. low lsa

Im ready to install a cam in my car. I have read tons and tons of posts. Predator-z and patrick g also speced me a cam. I still cannot bring my self to pick out a cam and buy it. Patrick speced me 230/238 .600”/.604” 111LSA +4 advance. This cam sounds like it will work well with my combination. With my stock cr will the 111 lsa bleed off to much cylinder pressure causing low bottom end power. Car is a 50/50 street strip. I dont want to over cam my car but also dont want to leave power on the table with too small of a cam. I think I just need some reassurance to get me over this hump and go buy a damn cam. lol specs on my car....

full weight car
m6 3.89 rear
full exhaust with catted y
ls6 intake with p/p tb
cam only stock heads
occasional 100-150 shot

if one of those 2 fellas speced the cam i wouldnt have any worries...they know there ****.....and that cam doesnt have enough overlap well @.050 to worry about and the advance will make up for it in the lower end....

Thats not a 50/50 car, thats a street car that you like to take to the track. That camshaft will work fine, I would personally go a little smaller.

The 111LSA will give it a little chop and boost low end torque, advancing the intake center line 4 more degrees also helps low end. The longer duration will help you out on the top end.

Without heads or a FAST intake your leaving power on the table, that intern limits the amount of camshafts that will be a good match for your combination(see my sig). That doesnt stop 90% of people on here from going much larger, but you said you dont want to overcam. Smart! Overcammed engines are miserable.

That sounds like a really good combination. The 111 LSA will make it a great street car with a lot of thump, just make sure you know someone who can tune it.

I do plan on getting a fast 92mm in time but will hold off on heads till I get next motor built. The end goal for my car is a iron block 408 with spray but that wont be happening soon. I talked to patrick g about how large the split is on the duration. He said the +8 on exhaust will net me about 10rwhp on top as opposed to a 230/230. You mentioned that you would get a cam a little smaller. What size would you suggest? thanks in advance

That is very close to my cam. Mine is 232/236 .595/.601 110LSA on ported 243 heads. LS6 intake, stock tb and maf, headers, ory. Put down 398 rwhp through an auto and 3:23's. Surprisingly flat torque curve. I have a 4400 converter because I like it but it had a 3600 before and it worked fine. No lack of power from 3000 and up. Power peaks at 6000rpm and stays flat till 6500.

Idles just bad *** at 850. I tuned it myself with HPTuners. If your tuner is not damn good, they will have trouble with idle and low speed driveability. If they are damn good (like me) the car will drive fine.

ET in sig. I LOVE this cam.
