Hey i am new at this and i am just now starting to fix my car up i just bought a agostino cam the specs are 240\240 550 112lsa does anyone know anything about this company or this cam.

Agostino builds many awesome engines and have some of the fastest F-bodies around. As far as the cam, that is huge duration and it will make awesome topend power. You better have all the bolt-ons available, very nice stage 2+ heads, and be ready to flycut your pistons. And a 6-speed or a Very tall converter w/gears.

 

i have six speed which gears would you suggest and lts also which kind or macs thanks for the help

 

QTP/Kooks headers and 4.10 would do just fine

 

The company used to be a sponsor here so you may find a link to their site somewhere. I would guess that cam is designed for a stroker motor or at least a motor with 382 cubes or more as it is bigger than most cams for stock engine cars. It will definitely need flycutting of the pistons and a lot of work to get it to idle.

 

That cam looks like it has some very soft lobes. 240 duration, but only .550 lift? I would like to see the numbers on it, to see what the power curve looks like.

 

As far as Long Tubes go, if you can't afford QTP or Kooks then the next step would be Hooker then Pacesetter's which perform just as well. I honestly wouldn't run that cam in my car unless a stroker motor was in the near future. However if you already bought it, then you can make it run really well with a good computer tune. The G5X-2 that performs really well is a 232/240 .595/.609 112LSA so yours should be above 400rwhp with all the bolt-ons.

 

wow, thats a shitload of duration, you'll definately need at minimum full bolts ons and some nice ported heads and a good tune. honestly i think the best thing for you to do would be to sell it and then do some research on cams and find the right one for your application, cuz to me this doesnt seem it unless your looking for all out top end power on something that is not your daily driver. and you can forget about that passing emissions if indeed you need to.

 

who turned you on to that grind???
do they run it as well???

If it is an Agostino recommendation wouldnt it normally be a Lunati cam.

 

thaks for he help everyone and i do plan on going with all the bolt ons andi think i will keep the cam and try it and as soon as i put it in i will go dyno and give you some numbers.
