Default T&D Rocker Arms Pushrod Question

I switched my solid roller cam to hydraulic. I went ahead and ordered 7.4 pushrods and installed them the guy who set up the solid roller had 7.55 rods on there. When putting it back together the 7.4's seem way to short.

Is this due to the T&D style rockers? Do they require longer pushrods? I assumed possibly wrong that the longer pushrods were typical with solid lifters.

The main problem is there aren't enough threads to lock the nut onto the adjustable fastener part of the rocker above the pushrod when it is properly lashed. With the 7.55 which I tried this isn't a problem you just don't see many 7.55 so I'm thinking it's related to the rocker's.

have to check it with an adjustable pushrod to be sure you have the right preload.

Are the rockers shimmed up alot? I have a set of the Comp Cams rockers(made by T&D) but haven't installed them yet. From the research I have done it seems they normally require a shorter pushrod(like 7.2"). Maybe you have longer than stock valve stems and the rockers are shimmed up to fix the wipe pattern. Do you know all of the details of your valvetrain?

Sorry here are some more detail

Orginally

243 heads milled to 59cc
2.080/1.60 valves
7.55 Rods
Solid Roller Setup
T&D Shaft Mounts 1.7

Now

Patriot LQ9 Heads (72cc) Stage 3
2.080/1.60 valves
Comp Roller Lifters
232/236 114LSA cam
T&D Shaft Mounts 1.7

I swapped the heads entirely for assembled LQ9's. The only thing from the orginal valve train is the T&D rockers.

I think the rockers are where the problem is. I don't know how I could make the 7.4's work the way it is I don't even think I could set the preload properly zero lash only allows the locking nut to turn maybe 1-2 revolutions onto the threads.

If you can set the desired preload with the 7.55 pushrods without bottoming out the adjuster then use them. The T&D rockers are not going to use the stock length pushrod in most cases.
The proper thing to do is to set the adjuster in the middle and check the pushrod length with an adjustable length checker. But if it appears to be fine with the 7.55's I would use them.

You need to measure as a lot has changed with your setup . Solid roller setups usually have longer valves , your cam's base circle , pushrod seat in the lifter will be @ a different height . Always measure .
