Default MTI T1 Cam

Well, after 2 days of reading all the posts I can on this board and looking at Raughammer's web page for hours on end, I have chosen the T1 cam. My question is, what springs will work well with this cam on stock heads?
BTW.....nice page Raughammer, lots of useful information

I'm running this cam with Comp 918's and 772 Ti retainers. No problems with the springs for me.

After all of the reading on Raughammer's web page I'm surprised you didn't choose the C1 or C2 cam. T1 is a good cam, but why not go for even more?

I didnt want it to end up sounding like a sewing machine...also I wasnt sure about the extra lift and how it would affect the life of the springs and driveability

You have a point there. I just looked at MTI page again and the C1 is looking good. <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

Either cam is a good choice and for springs you should be safe with

Manley
Com 918's
OR ISKY 295D's

I got a T1 cam last May with the 918 springs. I probably have 10-12 thousand miles on them with no problems. The C1 cam is an excellent choice as well. <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

I've also got a T1, very happy with it so far in a year and 10k miles on 918s. B1/T1/C1 are all good cams and I think you'll be happy with either. C1 being a hair bigger might give you a few more ponies compared to the other 2. Never heard a C1, but the B1 is fairly tame sounding, and the T1 lopes like a mother.

I've been running it for almost 3 years now with no problems. With bolt-ons and cam only I pulled 382rwhp so it's definitely worth it. I'm running the 918's with stock retainers.

C1 with Manley springs and Ti retainers works good. Valvetrain will have some noise though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

How much noise, like the sewing machine noise, also, if anyone who has already posted reads this again, have any of you had any problems with the car smoking or burning oil after your cam install?

The T1 is still a great all-around cam for these engines. I still feel honored to have a camshaft named after me (T1 stands for Tony1)

Pretty cool huh? <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" />

T1 = Tony1
T2 = Tony2
B1 = Brooke1
C1 = Campbell1
C2 = Campbell2
X1 = just a name
R1 = just a name
S1 = Sanders1

-Tony

Kinda like a sewing machine... not the industrial kind. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> No burning oil problem for me, just burning tires!!! <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />
