Default What is the difference?

Ok I am sure this has been asked before, so here we go again.

What is the internal difference between the 5.3, LS1, LS6?

I have a chance to get a camaro with an LS6 in it right now. The guy also has an STS turbo kit w/ the GT67 and new forged internals for the engine.

I was wondering if you could bore the 5.3 out, the pistons he has is 25mm over speed pro forged, rods are scat.

Is the factory crank good enough for the power levels that the turbo system has the potential of producing?

Thanks for any help?

There are 2 kinds of 5.3s, 1 is iron block and the other is alum. The iron block can be bored to 5.7L and that would make a good base for boosted application along with 317 (LQ9/LQ4) heads.

Properly done you can see 500>600rwhp realisticaly with intercooler and meth.

Ya he does have a set of 317's and meth, and a MMS 229/229 .581/.581 114 cam that comes with the car. I was planning to run the iron 5.3.

I was hoping to get around 550/550 out his combo. I think it would be good for the street/strip.
