Default ??? On cam install

So I have searched on here and went to LS1HowTo. I think I know how to swap out the cam, but my questions are about the lifters. The how to gives three ways to keep them up. But my questions are.

1. What if one does fall?
2. How to you fix it?
3. And if I have the engine on a stand can I just turn it up side down?

Any advice would be great

#1 The lifter will end up in the oil pan.
#2 Remove Oil pan.
#3 If you have it on a stand fliping it over should work, I would use the water pump bolts (on the how to) and spin the cam over fast to throw the lifters in to the trays, and you can alway get some wood rods to stick in the holes.
