Default When to lap valves?

I have a brand new set of bare L92's with seats installed in them from GM. I also have brand new L92 valves to put in them. Should I lap the valves/heads? I was thinking of just using a fine grit compound if I did lap them. Any tips you guys might have are all welcome.

take them to a shop and have them do a valve job on them properly.

Even if everything is brand new? The seats already have a three angle valve job right from GM.

Its just hard to believe that you would need machine work done to brand new valve seats, valves and heads.

Only reason I say to take them to a shop, is that i dont know your ability so thats why i recomend a shop, if you have the ability and knowledge then yes you can lap them and verify with the dye.

I have hand built engines before, mostly small block chevys. I just havent assembled a set of brand new heads/valves before. A few of the old timers said they use a blue sharpie on the valve and the seat to see how they mate. They tell me its the next best thing to the dye. lol!
