Default Questions about my car with 228r camshaft.

Alright so I got my car up and running now and so far I put about 50-100miles on it. I got a mail order tune and plugged the computer in before it was even done, so when I started it up the tune was already done and it should have learned it easy, idles fine for the most part and everything seems to be running perfect except some issues. I mentioned to my tuner to tune out egr, but forgot to mention air and we took the relay out for that, and my SES light is back on, I have yet to check it but im going to guess and hope its the AIR since I forgot to mention to the tuner to tune it out. My main question though is with my mods listed in sig, how long does it take for the cam to smooth out? It's getting better and better it seems but it will still stall if I go into neutral and sometimes it falls to low and then just dies.. I'm thinking of drilling the hole bigger in the throttle body but im unsure if that is needed with this cam or not and if that would even help my stalling issue. The other thing as I mentioned above is does taking the relay out for the AIR set of a ses light? And is there anything else I should know, its rather hard to drive at the moment since im also breaking in my clutch

ALSO!, what should my oil pressure be around with my mods? It seems to stay at a constant even 40 on idle. Is this safe and correct for the ls6 pump with that cam? Thanks

Don't drill your TB out. That is not the correct way to fix your issue. A proper tune will fix that. Yes the AIR can throw a code and 40 PSI is fine.

Alright just checking. I'll prob. get a dyno tune a little later on but im just curious to why the bucking and surging and having trouble idling when going into neutral from a roll

It may take up to 200 miles to learn itself out.I would get it retuned if its still doing it after 200 miles.

So far I have about 80miles on it and it's doing MUCH better, when I go into neutral while rolling to a stop it catches itself now. Now I just gotta see what these codes mean, P1133 P0133 P0155 and P1133 again.

who tuned it? mine does the same thing, but not always...it's very inconsistant. most of the time even when it does it catches itself.

however if I'm around a crowd of people you can rest assured it's going to stall out on me. especially backing out of a parking space at a hang out...and go from idle to reverse and sometimes from reverse to drive (i always stop on neutral because the car idles at 1k rpm in gear and don't want to bang from reverse to drive at that rpm)

It's doing much better today, the clutch is almost broken in now, have close to 300miles on it already so it's much easier to drive. Also, it is idling better to!

Ya it takes a while. My car has right around 300 miles since the build and its doing ALOT better than it was during the first hundred. Just remember to keep a check on the plugs. My car had some idling and starting issues from a warm start and when I checked the plugs they were black as night.

I just changed the plugs with the cam install. Or do you mean check them in a lil and see if I should change them again?

So... I just discovered I have NO ******* REV LIMITER. Is there a easy way to set your rev limiter with a handheld or do you need to physically get a tuner to do it? I asked my tuner to set it for 6400-6600 whichever is best for this cam, and I just went to 6800 with no restrictions..so yea im going to guess my limiter is off which I would like to have.

thats sucks but the factory tachs aren't known to be very accurate. mine is off 200rpm at idle and shows 7000 on a 6600rpm shift. maybe yours is off too

yah the factory tachs are off but if hes shifting at 6800 that means hes taking the motor to 7200 not good on a stock bottom end

Just talked to him and he says it's at 6800 as my rev limiter. I'll prob just shift around 6500 though, only way to see where im making good power is on a dyno anyways, so gotta wait till then..
