Default MPH + E.T. differance between cams

I have been browsing these forums trying to gain information to make a decision on what cam I want in my car. I have been going back and forth.
Car is an 02 full weight m6 with 3.89 gears. Full bolt ons and soon to be a cam only car with the occasional 150 hit of juice. street/ strip car..With all things being equal except cam what would the et differance be between a 224/224, .566"/.566" 114 and a 230/238 .600”/.604” 111LSA +4 advance cam be. I understand this is a very very general question with all variables involved. Im thinking that both cams would have peak hp/tq numbers within 15 of eachother. If thats true then wouldnt they both be between .1 or .2 tenths of eachother. I dont want to overcam my car but also dont want to leave a bunch of power on the table. I know the best thing would for me to drive a car that has a cam similar to both and see which one I like better but I dont have that option.... sorry for the rant. Im having a hard time makeing a decision

Have you researched the TR230? Its one of the most proven cams out there for the LS1.

Which TR230 cam were you referring too? Im guessign the tr230/236 .592/.602 112 LSA.. Its close to the 230/238 cam patrick g speced me. It should put up some good numbers. I was also looking at a 228/232 .588"/.595" 110+1
cam.. Im curious as to what people think the differance between the orginal cams mentioned would be.

yeah as stated the added exhaust side duration is good for nitrous as opposed to a cam that is matched ex: 224/224 or a cam thats bigger on the intake side, etc..

honestly that's not a good question to ask, there are simply too many variables at any given track at any given time, not to mention driver, tune, etc.

buy a desktop dyno/track package program and plug in the numbers and see what it says (just a thought)

While your question is a good one, it is virtually impossible to answer.

I agree you need a 'professional' to analyze your exact setup, gearing, weight, etc..to dial in the exact valve events to get you the overall peak HP/TQ to get you the 1/4 mile times you are looking for.

There are several on this board, but it might require you reach out to them.

Sounds like that 228-232 range is what you are going to need.

Good luck.

The TR 230/224 111 is the cam im talking about. Its on Thunder Racings website. This cam always produces excellent results.

From what I have seen on the tr230/236, I have not been impressed.
